Helping Santa!

My missy wanted a LaLaLoopsy doll for Christmas...
but Santa had a terrible fourth dimension finding one...
as well as online they were super overpriced.

 He did instruct by to become 2 of the mini sets...but
to repose the pain, I decided to brand a truthful cat for her.

My conception was to say
"I didn't intend Santa would live on able to find 
you lot one, then I made you lot this instead"

Here's how it went.
Cut out of fleece...which turned out beingness besides stretchy.
 
 
I sewed the eyes, cheek as well as rima oris earlier it was 
sewn then it would live on to a greater extent than secure.
 It turned out beingness means toooooo large on top...so I made it a trunk as well as but shoved the caput inwards as well as mitt stitched it...and added the tail.
Made a base of operations as well as tied a ribbon.
She loved it.
(although I am nevertheless to decease on a picket for a lalaloopsy 
at the thrift shop or yard sales...)

Warm Woolen Mittens!

 Seriously, i of my FAVORITE things!
Warm Woolen Mittens!  Maybe wrapped inwards chocolate-brown newspaper packages in addition to string?
They fifty-fifty jibe my Roxy slippers...best slippers ever!
But let's brand some mittens.

I flora a supplier that had fantastic wool fabric...but they direct maintain since gone out of business.
They sell lots of everything crafty...check out their stuff!
They fifty-fifty offering a gratuitous sample per customer!
I was thrilled when they asked if I could exercise some projects alongside their stuff!
Wholeport sent me this GORGEOUS in addition to colorful woolen fabric.
It's awesome...and it matches my ROXY Hot Cocoa slippers!
(Although, apart from the soles, I mean value I could brand some slippers too!)

If y'all were checking this spider web log final year, you'd know
that I seriously direct maintain a glove fetish.  As in, I beloved them!
But I specially beloved mittens!  But mitten pick at stores are pretty scarce.
I decided the best solution was to brand my own!

Here's how to brand mittens.
It's kindergarten stuff.

Trace mitt on newspaper alongside pollex sticking out relaxed.
See, kindergarten!

 Draw some your mitt form most a one-half to 3/4's inch or so
some entire thing.

 Cut out of fleece lining.
I used fleece to add together warmth in addition to give construction to the woolen/woven fabric.
Note: fleece stretches inwards 1 direction.  So brand certain y'all position the stretch
management to stretch some your wrist in addition to hand,
 rather than stretch long off your fingers.  (ask me how I know)
Cut ii sets of 2.

 I began past times making mine super long...then changed upwardly programme mid-mango.

 Sew the lining. most 1/4" from the edge.

You don't direct maintain to worry because the fleece wont fray.

Then role the fleece mitten equally a designing to cutting the patterned fabric.

 This is where I would recommend using a few pins...which I rarely do.
Cut most 1/4" bigger than the lining.

 Maybe I didn't mean value this would move out...so I didn't accept pictures hither either!
Sew 1/2" inwards all some the woolen material...right sides together on the inside...
stitch alongside the incorrect sides showing.
Because this stuff had the potential to fray, I hence did a zig zag
stitch correct on the border similar a serger stitch to proceed it all together.

Now, don't last scared...okay, I was at first!
The dorsum of this stuff looks similar a woven tapestry...like the entire matter could unravel inwards three seconds!
But I cutting it in addition to sewed it without whatever problems!
It was EASY to move with!

   Then plough correct side out...like this!

 Now,
Put on your fleece mitten hence the sewn edges are showing.

 Slip your piffling mitt into the patterned mitten...

 Like this!

 Carefully take both layers.
Fold the patterned stuff within the mitten and
zig zag stitch it inside.
 All some the wrist of the mitten.
 Like this!  (It looks giant huh?)
 Then repeat for the other side!
  High fives for fashionable in addition to warm mittens!

Gryffindor Chevron Infinity Scarf!

 
If you've been to a greater extent than or less my weblog long enough...you'll know I am completely a geek!
I beloved sci-fi too fantasy!  So, naturally, Harry Potter is a favorite!

Yourfleece.com has the perfect Gold too Maroon Chevron Fleece!
I knew I needed a Gryffindor Chevron Infinity Scarf inwards my life.
Yourfleece.com sent me a bunch of fleece to play amongst inwards telephone commutation for this post.
 Yourfleece.com has tons of fleece patterns too styles, lots of licensed patterns too!
It's a groovy cost too super high quality!  I was real impressed.
I ordinarily purchase inexpensive fleece at the big box store...and it's flimsy too shapeless.
This stuff is substantial!
So, for $7.50--or 1 yard, you lot tin brand ii scarfs!
(shipping worked out to hold out $8.95 for me...for 1 yard or for 20...so it's the best fourth dimension to stock up!)
Okay now, you lot only need:
10 minutes
Sewing machine
needle too thread
1/2 yard of fleece
Fold the one-half yard inwards one-half so the bolder designing or correct side is facing within the fold
...so it's a yard long...and virtually 18" wide.
 Sew along the entire yard length, virtually 3/8" from the edge.
 Now it's sewn on the border but the ends are open.
 Time to flip it correct side out!
Now the bolder designing side volition show, seamlessly!
 Okay, this purpose is a tiny chip tricky.
Line upward your ends so they aren't twisted...and pose the correct side together.
So line of piece of employment upward the seams...see how the correct sides are touching too the within seams line of piece of employment up?
Do this.
 Now pivot if you lot like.
I don't usage pins hardly ever.  Call me lazy.
Okay, run across the seams are notwithstanding lined upward too the entirely affair I am
 going to sew together are the ii layers together.
Start virtually ii inches away from the seam.
Then conduct stitch every bit you lot did earlier.
 A piddling at a time...stitch...pause too brand certain the stuff is still
 lined upward too null is catching underneath.
 Keep sewing until you lot tin sew together no longer!

 Add a french knot...or roll the thread to a greater extent than or less the needle virtually three times

 Looks fabulous.
Fleece is the best stuff for manus sewing because it's super forgiving!
 Next, I added a Gryffindor button...
I only printed off a moving-picture exhibit too pressed it inwards my push maker...
(my printer ink is on it's agency out...hence the gray, non black)
 And expelliarmus!
